ARTIST’S STATEMENT

JUNE RUSSELL


 I have always loved photography and, fifteen years ago, realized that I wanted to make art using this medium.  For me it is a spiritual journey when I’m in the woods or the garden, or even watching the sky.  My heart and eye are drawn to nature’s vivid colors which I express in my art.  Many times we walk through life and pass the amazing sights around us without being fully aware of their wonder.  In my art I seek to capture these images and bring you powerful emotional and visceral sensations.  I want my images to make you pause and find a resonance between you and the work.  Enjoy the trip to my natural world.
